A person’s skin is the largest organ they have in their body. And at times, it can be one of the most challenging parts of the body to take care of. With a little common sense and some hard work, your skin can become naturally beautiful for the rest of your life.

Do’s For Healthy Skin

Start from the inside – If you haven’t already, switch to eating good, healthy, plant based foods. Opt for more veggies and green foods. Other items to include in your daily diet are Omega 3 fatty acids, in limited supply,  fibers, nuts, and fish.

Water – Your skin needs plenty of water to maintain a healthy glow and keep its plump nature. The water must come from the inside, not the out. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated for your organs, and glowing for your skin.

Sunscreen – The sun can damage your soft and gentle skin in less than a day. Sun rays increase spots and dark pigmentation on the surface of your skin, but will also destroy the inner workings of your skin.

Always apply sunscreen, even on overcast and cloudy days. The sun’s rays are so strong, they can burn your skin even through clouds. The sun’s rays also bounce off ice and snow, therefore, simply use sunscreen everyday you venture outside to be on the safe side.

Don’ts For Healthy Skin

No Spicy Foods – Again, you must start from the inside to have a beautiful outside. Skip the spicy, fermented, oily, and general “junk” foods. Don’t eat too much salted food. Instead, eat foods that have a high water content and are fresh and good for you.

Don’t Skip Your Sink Care Routine – At the end of the day, your skin as collected a lot of toxins. Even if you spent the day in the fresh air, your pores collect pollen, dirt, oil, and pollution. Every night, before bed, you need to use a gentle cleanser, a toner, and a moisturizer to maintain healthy, beautiful skin.

Don’t Pick on Your Skin – Popping pimples or scraping dry patches will leave a dark scar that takes years to repair and disappear. Dark spots, from popping pimples, make you look older. The swelling and redness of a pimple will go away, but scarred tissue will not be repaired as easily.

The general rule when it comes to your skin is to be gentle. Avoid the urge to pick, scratch and rub your skin. Use a mild soap to avoid stripping away the natural oils. Allow your skin to breathe with no makeup and light moisturizer when you are indoors. There are also pollutions inside, so always, always, wash your face before going to bed.

As you enter different stages of your life, your skin will need extra care.
