Beauty and the Bulb: Meet Bloomeffects, the First Skincare Line To Harness The Botanical Power Of Tulips

When beauty industry veteran Kim Jensen found her perfect match—a fourth-generation tulip farmer—she moved across the globe for him. Little did she know that following her heart to The Netherlands would also lead her to fulfill her professional aspirations.

With years of experience in the New York beauty industry, the Australian native always dreamed of having her own skincare range, but she was never able to find a truly unique and natural ingredient that provided the effective results she wanted. It turns out that her dream man would also be the one to introduce her to her dream skincare ingredient: His globally renowned, award-winning royal tulips. This was the seed that would soon grow into Bloomeffects, the first skincare brand ever to harness the botanical power of tulips.

Monica Aurigemma

Kim and her business partner Monica Aurigemma—a longtime colleague and fellow beauty-biz expert—founded Bloomeffects after years of harvesting a vast range of bulb plants, doing an extensive research with a leading Dutch university and partnering with an innovative U.S. lab to develop the most advanced skincare formulations that utilize the tulip’s most potent benefits. These benefits include:

The effects of all these tulip-derived benefits: a coveted, youthful glow.

That’s why the four debut Bloomeffects products—Royal Tulip Cleansing Jelly, Royal Tulip Nectar, Dutch Dirt Mask and Tulip Tint —are all formulated with the Bloomeffects Proprietary Dutch Tulip Complex. It’s rich in antioxidants, natural moisturizing factors and amino acids for softer, smoother and glowingly hydrated skin. The products are clean, safe and wildly effective, containing zero parabens, sulfates, phthalates or fragrance. And product packaging? Not only is it as stunning as the blooms that inspired the line, but it’s also beautifully sustainable, being primarily made out of recyclable materials. Bloomeffects products are packaged in PICEA™ wood tubes made from the sawdust from German carpenters, glass jars (infinitely recyclable!), and cartons made out of 100% recycled materials.

Ready for skin that feels petal-soft and is blooming with radiance?

Some Dutch flower fun facts:

77% of all flower bulbs traded worldwide come from the Netherlands, the majority of which are tulips.

44% of the worldwide trade in floricultural products comes from the Netherlands, making it the dominant global supplier of flower and flower products.

This tiny country leads the world’s farming best practices: They’ve almost completely eliminated the use of chemical pesticides on plants in greenhouses. Dutch farmers have also reduced dependence on water for key crops by as much as 90%.
